shejay™'s reason for being derives from a need to create a home. A group of inspired individuals were on the hunt for a dwelling that supports women who thrive and live in the world of electronic music. We are certainly not pioneers in this venture - as many women have already established strong regional collectives. But?
In this quest, we were constantly reminded of what most of us already knew - this genre is primarily a boys' game, and those of us without a penis are in desperate need of a highly-flavoured and supportive neighbourhood. Simply put, shejay™ intends to be an internationally-based, significant written source of the lifestyle, art, love and promotion of female artists in electronic music. How?
shejay?''s creators have a clear focus on what we seek to build: an online network for female artists in the electronic music industry. As a venue that features-advances-promotes and discusses on-the-rise DJs-producers-vocalists and promoters - shejay™ is managed by and for its members and featured artists. All content is voluntarily contributed. How often? Quarterly. What's inside? Articles, interviews, reviews, club listings, forums, links to online mixes and many other resources as we further develop.
